Not thinking in technical terms, I had an idea in the back of my mind that the 99 file was for a newer version/type of Win98, which brought on my original question! So since my non-techical suspicion seems to have been correct, I shall proceed to throw the baby out with the bath water, and just forget about it! And I have enough daily e-mail coming in from different advisors that would alert me to any update of critical files, plus I use Windows Update regularly as well as many other checks and balances that are recommended by Microsoft and others! Thanks for the input and advice! .......clarence....... > David Nasset, Sr. www.freelists.org/webpage/triadtechtalk UNSUBSCRIBE by sending email to triadtechtalk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with unsubscribe in the Subject field.
