Now I have a uIEC, working 1581 and so on I'm looking for a file copier for the 64 that doesn't rely one specific model of drive. I've gotta few but they're all 1541 only, it seems they use either firmware specific to 1541 or execute code on the the drive itself so it fails on non-1541 drives.

Have you tried the JiffyDOS built-in file copier? I would be interested in knowing if it works with the uIEC (Jim might be too.) It's very irritating to use but at least it's there, and would use JiffyDOS speeds.

Alternately, if it's a regular program file, you could just LOAD it on one drive and re-SAVE it to the other.
