On a side note when I got mine from Joe a few years ago (1581) only
certain drive mechs would work reliably. Luckily I got my hands on
several and with some trial & error experimentation I was able to get 1
working. Unfortunately I don't remember which models work off hand but
most search engines should be able to find the info or could see if the
info is still up on Joes site.

I don't recall St. Catherines regarding 1581s but there is an Amiga
person there who sells on eBay with a eBay name something like
"Nishtek".
Joe P. might remember him as I believe he has done business with him.
