I checked out a spring fed pond at an apartment complex (The Landings on
Silver Lake) in Church Hill (just west of Kingsport) this afternoon (June
7) . There's no lake there, but a nice pond. I was surprised to find 6 male
Carolina Saddlebags patrolling the pond. This is a species i haven't seen
often around Kingsport during the summer. There were at least as many Black
Saddlebags on the same pond. It's a private complex, but I was just looking
things over as I might be in the market for an apartment sometime, who
knows.
