If you take photos of butterflies or moths for submission to BAMONA, be
sure that you use a photo set-up that enables one of these file
extensions to end your photo label: png, gif, jpg, jpeg. No other
extension, like bmp, will allow you to upload photos to BAMONA.

BAMONA is interested in all records, not just first county or state
records, so any photo you take of any species of lep can be submitted at
the data-entry page. For any uncommon species, I would encourage you to
submit your photos without worrying about the previous record of
submissions in your county or region of the state. Of course, if you do
obtain photos of county record leps, and almost any moth is likely to be
one such, go ahead and submit them.

If you take really nice photos, and many of you do, you can also share
them by using the Share Photos page that BAMONA maintains. If you first
submit a photo via the route mentioned above and receive a confirmation
of the i.d. of the species in an email message, just keep that message
handy; with it you can then submit your really fine photos to the Share
Photos page of BAMONA.

Good lepping, Steve Stedman
