Hello all; The 18th annual Tennessee River Gorge, TN butterfly count was held on Satuday, June 9. This is the second oldest continuously running NABA count in Tennessee. Participants included: Libby Wolfe, David Spicer, Scott Spicer, Harold Birch, Nancy Williams, Tommie Rogers and Bill Haley. We enjoyed temperatures from 69-86 F. Sun in am - 80%, sun in pm - 50%. Light winds 1-3 MPH. We split into 3 parties, for a total of 22 party hours, and walked a combined 6 miles. Good finds included: Checkered White (somewhat uncommon around here), Little Yellow, Harvester, American Copper, Striped Hairstreak and Juniper Hairstreak. We located 7 Dianas.
