Stones River/Percy Priest Lake area, Rutherford County TN

Last Saturday was the best butterfly day of the season so far, and
participating in a TN Native Plant Society outing some first-of-year
butterflies
were observed for that county.
Species list in order of appearance, and numbers are approximate.
Falcate orangetip 25, some females seen
Clouded sulfur 1
Mourning cloak 5
Checkered white 6
Red admiral 2
Eastern comma 2
Question mark 2
(anglewings and mourning cloaks were using maple sap, from sapsucker wells,
etc.)
Goatweed leafwing 1
Southern dogface 1
Sleepy orange 4
