I am also thinking it's a Southern, mainly because I see quite a bit of yellow
on the antennae.

Judy,

This is an interesting specimen.  The extensive white border around the eye
spots suggests a Southern Pearly-eye.  The smallest eye spot on the forewing
is very small to nonexistent. I have found no mention of this phenomenon in
any of my references.  Photographs in Cech & Tudor and in Glassberg show the
forewing spots in the Southern Pearly-eye are four different sizes, while
the Northern Pearly-eye has only two sizes.  Question for the net:  are
these different spot sizes diagnostic?

My personal opinion is Southern Pearly-eye, but I would like to hear from
some of our real experts on this one.
