A short afternoon break to the Mountains revealed some fresh newcomers. Saw 26 male, and 3 female, Dianas.  Unfortunately one of the females was dead on the road, already a victim of a hit and run.

I don't know why, but it seems that all the Coral Hairstreaks that I've seen this year are weakly marked and looking a little puny. Anyone else noticing the same thing?  Usually,  there are at least some that  are large and downright gaudy, with BIG orange spots.  Saw a dozen today on two species of milkweed. They love that milkweed.

Plume Moths are ridiculously amazing little creatures. Does anyone know if this is a Himmelman's

He looks like he's been shot by little Indian arrows from both sides.
