Hello everyone,
The summer Meeman-Shelby Forest count will be held this Saturday, the 7th. We
will meet at the park visitors center at 9:30 and begin counting. Please
remember your $3.00 NABA fee and bring your sunscreen, bug spray, and water.
The temperatures are forecast to be in the low 90s with a slight chance of
thunderstorms, very typical for this time of year. The plan will be to have
lunch at the Corner Store Grill around 1:00 or so, and complete counting
afterward. So far, this has been another down year in terms of butterfly
numbers, but I have hopes that activity will start ticking upward now that we
are in July. Please let me know if you are planning on coming to the count.
