Ken,
Last weekend I saw 1 Little Yellow (in Grundy County). There was at least one
Little Yellow seen in Franklin County.
We saw more Cabbage Whites - though of course not when we wanted to find one to
document it in Roane County - but not in large numbers.

It's true a lot of people don't reply to these kinds of messages, whether on
this butterfly list or most other lists. I usually find the questions
interesting, but don't have - or don't think I have - much to add. Others may
feel the same, too. Maybe we should all try to make a better effort of
responding to such questions. My answer above doesn't seem to provide much
info, but maybe others can add to it and there might be something we could
learn from it.
So there's the challenge...help start discussions of butterflies in Tennessee,
and keep the discussions going!

I'm seeing 4 or 5 yellows everyday but I haven't seen any whites since 6/12.

Is this sort of info interesting to anyone? I rarely get any replies or follow
up comments when I send out this type of post.

The yellow Yellows are making a charge. The count so far is:
Yellow 9
White 10

One of the males I saw yesterday was really light yellow and I would have said
it was a female if it hadn't been coupled to a white one.

Last year a relatively large percentage of the Little Yellows I saw here were
white females. This year I've seen 8 Little Yellows on the farm and 6 of those
have been whitish with 4 of the 6 being bright white. I'm curious to hear if
anyone else has noticed anything like this or if this is just how they are in
my area.
