While working at Sunk Lake State Natural Area in Lauderdale County, TN on September 3, 2009 I identified the following butterflies: 1. Silver-spotted skipper 2. Checkered skipper species- Common checkered skipper is a Lauderdale Co. record so I attached a photograph 3. Least skipper- Lauderdale Co. record; photo attached 4. Fiery skipper 5. Sachem 6. Orange sulphur- 1 7. Southern dogface- at least 10 seen 8. Cloudless sulphur- 4 9. Little yellow- 2 10. Sleepy orange- 1 11. Eastern tailed blue- I counted 130 individuals 12. American snout 13. Pearl crescent 14. Question mark 15. Red admiral 16. Red-spotted purple 17. Viceroy 18. Hackberry emperor The third photo has eastern tailed blues, southern dogface, cloudless sulphurs, and little yellows.
