I participated in the Reelfoot Lake Butterfly Count on June 26, 2010. After everyone left at 5 PM, I decided to look for odonates when I came upon a single Funereal Duskywing in Lake County. This is only the third county record for TN. The two other counties are Shelby and Stewart Counties. The host plant for this butterfly are in the legume or pea family. White clover and Apios americana are abundant in the area and others in this family are expected (Amorpha fruticosa is probably common). The Funereal was seen on the shoreline in a cove on Reelfoot Lake.
