I visited "the cove" at Concord Park (Knox Co.) from 3:30-4:45 pm today in breezy, overcast conditions. some birds noted: Horned Grebe - 12 Ring-Billed Gull - 43+ Great Blue Heron - 3 Belted Kingfisher - 1-2 m Killdeer - 2 (pond) Pine Warbler - 2 Yellow-Rumped Warbler - 1 Ruby-Crowned Kinglet - 1 There were many Robins, Starlings, and Juncos foraging in the grass together under the pine trees. I didn't see or hear any B.H. nuthatches. I also saw a large dark bird with whitish patches On the underside fly over the park and back over the road that I thought might be an imm. Bald Eagle but i'm not sure. The wings didn't seem long enough. Shane Williams - Knoxville ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Netscape.
