Wow what a welcome! Thanks to everyone, will email
everyone later today. Trying to work on uploading some
new photos. Might have some new ones up later today.

Saw a few more new birds today. Had a very nice barn
swallow sit still on a fence and give me wonderful
upclose looks and photos this morning. There is a huge
open pasture near where I live. For those who know
Knox/Maryville area. Its the UT agriculture center I
think off of 129 just past 140. I love it. Also found
there this morning, bluebirds, starlings, nighthawk,
numerous robins, a turkey family and my mystery bird
which most here feel is a song sparrow. I have seen
them upclose and even photographed many the last week.
But everytime I hear the bird call, I havent seen the
bird. Forgot to mention the gnatcatchers I saw at
ijams yesterday.

Anyways, went out exploring and took a wrong turn,
LOL, and ended up in south Knox. So since I was close
by, I made a trip to the Knox zoo. Love all the zoo
animals, but the best find for me today was a brown
creeper. First one I have seen upclose. Almost got a
photo till some kids made too much noise running and
playing. Spent time looking for him, but never saw him
again. I dont blame him. I have discovered kids below
me at my new place and I am ready to run and hide and
find a new place already. Nothing like yelling
screaming kids right outside your window when you are
trying to relax, work or sleep. But if its not the
kids, its the low flying planes sounding like they are
going to land on my roof. Will be looking for a new
place very soon in this area, more maryville or knox
area.

Anyways, my new TN birds list is growing so that is
cool. Saw several groundhogs and some deer today.
Looking forward to meeting each of you and learning
more about my new area. I enjoy birding, but I just
love nature photography. So I am up to seeing and
enjoying anything and everything. Except snakes, not a
big snake fan! lol

Would love to go tommorrow David, but I have a friend
coming into town for the weekend. Hopefully next
outing.

Saw lots of pretty wildflowers at Cades Cove
yesterday.

thanks again for the warm welcome!

ps - forgot to share an experience yesterday. I know
some make fun of people who enjoy birds. But yesterday
at Cades Cove a bird not only save major damage to my
new car it also saved the life of a very cute baby
deer. I was driving with no one else around
(amazingly) I saw a bird fly into a tree. Possibly a
red breasted nuthatch, not sure. I stopped to look and
the second I did, a baby deer came jumping off the
embankment right next to me and ran across the road
and almost didnt make it through the fence and ran
across the field. I didnt have time to react or get a
photo. I was just shocked as if I had not stopped to
see the bird for that exact second, that deer would
have been in my car as the drivers window was open and
the right height of the little hill he jumped from.
And as small as he was, it would have killed him
hitting my car like that or really hurt him. So
birding is good! He was adorable though :)
