I birded TWRAs Eagle Bend Fish Hatchery in Clinton, Anderson County, TN
today (July 28, 2006) from 8:38 am to 9:39 am. The following is a list of
shorebirds and herons observed:

1. Great Egret- 3
2. Semipalmated Plover- 1
3. Killdeer- ~154
4. Solitary Sandpiper- 1
5. Spotted Sandpiper- 2
6. Least Sandpiper- 9
7. Pectoral Sandpiper- 14
8. Baird's Sandpiper- 1 (This bird had black legs and was larger than a
least sandpiper, it appeared that its primaries were longer than the tail
though a better look was needed, it did not have a white rump, it showed no
rufous coloring anywhere, its bill was not as long as a "long-billed"
western sandpiper, and its plumage was not that of an immature semipalmated
sandpiper. A better look was desired- this id is my best judgment but
should not be taken as 100% accurate.)
