On the Greenbelt at the American Way access: Friday evening, one Yellow-crowned Night-Heron. Saturday there were 4 near two nests. Monday there were 3 --- apparently 2 males and a female. One of the males chased the other away from the nest while the 3rd heron watched. Then the male got on the nest and spread its wings in a display. There are several nests (about 6) in this area. There were others that have blown down over the winter. This area of the green belt is accessable from a parking area on American Way behind the Americourt Hotel (formerly the Ramada Inn), intersection of US 11W and TN 93 on the east side of Kingsport, TN.
