[TN-Bird] Radnor Lake, Nashville, TN

My first visit to Radnor Lake this year was delayed a week because
my office was moved to a new building last week. As expected, I
found a mix of winter and spring birds in migration. I walked the
Lake Trail from the West parking lot and returned via the road to
my car. Up to 3 dozen Cedar Waxwings were fluttering around near
the dam and ranger house. A variety of waterfowl included
8 Pied-billed Grebes, the most I have seen together in a while,
plus 5 species of ducks. Remnants of wintering visitors such as
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Brown Creeper, Golden-crowned Kinglet,
and Yellow-rumped Warbler were seen. Signs of spring were produced
by Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Barn Swallow, and the pumping tail of a
lone Palm Warbler.

Birds of interest included:
Pied billed Grebe 8
Wood Duck 13
Blue-winged Teal 3
Gadwall 1
Ring-necked Duck 6
Bufflehead 2
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1
Hairy Woodpecker 1
Eastern Phoebe 1
Barn Swallow 1
Brown Creeper 1
Golden crowned Kinglet 2
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 4
Cedar Waxwing 30+
Yellow-rumped Warbler 11
Palm Warbler 1
Swamp Sparrow 2
