Rick is absolutely right about not rescuing (kidnapping) a healthy youngster.
Unfortunately, that was not the case with this one.
The hatchling was found by a hiker that saw it sitting in the trail & when she
returned an hour later it was lying helplessly on its side & had not moved. She
drove it to me from Cleveland. Sadly it did not survive. When I got the chick
it was struggling to breathe, unresponsive & died a short time later.
