The Walkers, Jerry & her husband Dean, of Lebanon, TN report that they had a yellow-bellied sapsucker at their feeder today!!! This was definitely the news of our rather slow bird count day. She asked me to post this message for her... I can't recall the dates for us in Wilson Co of years past but it seemed mighty early to the rest of us (and exciting) She had not had her Bewick's Wren visit today...of course, the bird may have known it was count day... Count Day yielded ~60+ species...even struggled to get a robin. When I arrived in Bedford Co, there was a flock of 30 in my friend's yard...chimneys swifts (absent in Leb) were flying around in Shelbyville...But, a great look at the Gray-cheeked Thrush & Magnolia Warblers was a plus today!
