Hiwassee Refuge Meigs Co., TN On Sunday, I received a report from Doug Geren and Jim Burger from Cleveland, Tn. They had observed what is thought to be the first adult Whooper, for the 2007 season, at the Hiwassee Refuge on Saturday Nov.24th. The Whooping Crane was seen feeding in the cornfield with other Sandhill Cranes across from the Dubke viewing gazebo!
