We have a super Nikon spotting scope with a zoom lens, but you can't always drag it out for every bird you see. I need a new tripod because I bent one of the legs of mine and the folks at Manfrotto won't send me just one leg for much less than the cost of a whole new tripod. We have some very old 16x50 Bushnell binoculars. That is a lot of magnification but I cannot hold them steady enough to make it worth using. The image jiggles or bounces, and that is a no-no. I love my 9x32 Denalis because their barrels allow in enough light to give me a really sharp image. I keep them in the car, on the seat next to me. When it's cold I wear a warm sweater. When it's hot I bring bottled water. In Mexico, I take a Spanish-English dictionary. ;-) Robert Fowler Memphis TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
