I know I am new to the list and am probably overdoing my posts, but I have
some questions.
What are you guys looking at these birds you list on here, ie naked eye,
binos, spotting scopes, etc?
I have been using some bushnell x12 binos, and just got an x18 pair. Plus I
use a lot of naked eye. And my camera.
Bird counts:
Do ya'll actually sit and count each bird, or do you guess.?
When ya'll do this, are you in cars, blinds, foot, glider (joke), boats?
Unless I am in my yard looking in my yard, or at in-laws looking in the
small stand of trees behind their house, mostly I am driving until I see
something and stop. Occasionally in the rare times I actually have time, I
might sit
in the car, like I did yesterday shooing snipes. I have learned that by the
time you get out and try and take a picture, they are usually taking off.
Attire?
I just wear whatever, esp in car, and of course what is necessary if it is
cold or raining. Do ya'll have clothing suggestions? I have seen people wearing
the turkey hunter type camo, to plain ole T-shirt and kackey short.
I am a self-employed person with 3 kids under 10 and a wife and don't have
much time to do this so I try and make the best of what I got and any
suggestions.
Also, several of you have sent me pictures and links and I really appreciate
it and keep them coming. Thanks to all of you who have been sharing your
knowledge with me.
