Responding to a few questions regarding Snowy Owl in Spring Hill at the GM plant that builds the Chevrolet Traverse. Plant folks have begun to call him "Chevy". Bird is being seen daily still. I work at plant and check around for him nearly every day. In the mornings at dawn and usually up until around 8:30 he perches on a light pole on not visible from Hwy 31. I have a few decent photos from him on his light pole that can be seen at http://thehomegarden.blogspot.com/2009/01/spectacular-snowy-owl-photo.html Thursday he was about 75 yards off of the white fence just as the interchange heading to Columbia merges to Hwy 31. He was there most of the day and a few lucky viewers got a pretty decent close up. At the end of the day he moved to an "island" on the interchange. The island is on the west side of Hwy 31 and takes south bound Hwy 31 drivers to Hwy 396 (Saturn Parkway). I watched him fly from the island to one of the high line power lines at dark last night. Today after 3 pm he was dead straight ahead of the "fence gate" at the very top of the hill. There were a few spectators at the fence.
