I didn't have the same luck or patience that Ron Hoff and crew had on Saturday. I worked Sharp's Ridge for the Knox Co Spring Count on Sunday (25 April). Things started off looking great with good numbers of the four common vireo species and 7 warbler species between the overlook and the Verizon tower (YELLOW, Worm-eating, Black-and-white, Black-throated Green, Hooded, Ovenbird, "Myrtle" Yellow-rumped). Also a Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Scarlet Tanager, Wood Thrush, and Rose-breasted Grosbeak. Unfortunately, beyond that point, the ridge was pretty dead and I only added House Wren and Indigo Bunting. By 9:30 the winds had picked up (as had the "cruisers") and bird activity died down considerably. I worked my way back to the overlook where all the _bird_ activity had been but wasn't able to add any species so I called it a morning at 10:00.
