Tn-birders, Just a very quick re-cap of this mornings birdwalk on Sharp's Ridge, near downtown Knoxville, Knox County. Not much was happening on the ridge this morning. I thought with the incoming rainy weather, we might have a lot of birds, but in fact it was pretty slow. My wife, Dollyann, managed to get on a Blackpoll Warbler, but it soon got away and nobody else saw it. Highlights were as follows: Cooper's Hawk - we saw one and I think another group had one also. Always a welcome sight warblers - only a few Yellow-rumped, Black-throated Greens, and a lone Black-and-white Hairy Woodpecker - Dollyann and I had one as we got there about 8 a.m. Scarlet Tanager - 1 male soon after the walk started, but could not be re-located Rose-breasted Grosbeak - quite a few were seen, probably 20+ Chimney Swifts - a few overhead Blue-headed (2) and Red-eyed Vireos (2) Ruby-crowned Kinglets (3) Great birding, Ron Hoff Clinton, Tennessee =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
