Hi folks,
Yesterday (May 23) I did a bit of morning birding. I started out
right down the road from my house at a 5 of 6 year-old clearcut.
There were numerous INDIGO BUNTINGS and a healthy population of
FIELD SPARROWS as well as several YELLOW-BREASTED CHATS, WHITE-EYED
VIREOS and a couple of YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOOS.
Moving on to Kyker Bottoms, I found more of the same (I saw at least
6 cuckoos, including one nest and one possible nest, and heard at
least double that - easily a personal record for that species for
me.)
Sadly the martin "super gourds" there had only starlings.
I found 4 different singing WILLOW FLYCATCHERS
