Glen Criswell and I had a fairly good early July day in Dyer and Lake Counties today. In Dyer County at 182 near 104 there were 25 Least Sandpipers, 1 White-rumped Sandpiper and 1 Male Hooded Merganser and a Eurasian Collared Dove. At Mile Marker 18.5 on the GRR all of the Stilts have left and the farmers were planting around the water there. We did have 1 Solitary Sandpiper, 1 Short-billed Dowitcher and the one Canada Goose that has been there. At 103 and GRR we had 24 Least Sandpipers, 7 Adult and 3 Young Black-necked Stilts and a Lesser Yellowlegs. In the Tumbleweed Tennessee Wildlife Management Area just south of 79W we had 140 Least Sandpipers, 87 White Pelicans, 19 Solitary Sandpipers, 3 Spotted Sandpipers, 3 Black-necked Stilts along with a few others. Most prominent at White Lake Refuge were 40 Least Sandpipers along with a Cooper's Hawk.
