I was riding my scooter on Sneed Hill Road, in Carter County and a
Red-headed Woodpecker flew across in front of me. It was at the bottom of
the hill at two farm gates and a red barn. The bird came from a huge Red
Oak that was loaded with acorns. There was a white oak close to the red
oak.

I don't know of any recent sightings of Red-headed Woodpecker in Carter
County. Does anyone know??
