5-11-2011 Radnor Lake Davidson Co. Twenty-four birders helped out with the Radnor walk this morning in warm, muggy conditions compiling 68 species. One of the highlights was a Connecticut Warbler just before bench #20 at Long Bridge. It sang a few times and then several folks got to see it briefly, and it was a lifer for some. For the few of us that didn't go all the way around the lake, we got to see it again as it popped up in plain view for a few lovely seconds. The birders who went the distance were rewarded with an Osprey and a singing Cerulean Warbler. Two close Barred Owls were enjoyed near Cane Bridge. A nice Wilson's was found below the spillway. Thanks to all the sharp eyes and ears this morning. There will be one more Wednesday Walk next week. See you at 7:30 at the west parking lot.
