I made an effort to access Ensley Treatment Plant in Memphis this morning. Due to the high water, I found my progress blocked at the 2 entryways with which I am familiar, so I spent the morning looking for White-winged Doves on President's Island. There are loads of doves on Channel Avenue which seem to be attracted to the railroad tracks by the spilled corn. There are about an equal number of Mourning and E Collared Doves present. No luck with the WWs, the most interesting sighting was 2 different leukistic Collared Doves, one of which is almost snow white. The area is somewhat lacking in aesthetic charm, rating just above the sewage ponds and garbage dumps - it does have it's own interesting mixture of odors, and fast-moving large trucks to dodge. I did find a group of 3 Western Kingbirds which stayed at the intersection of Channel and Dock all morning There was also a pair of Scissortail Flycatchers near 1920 Channel Avenue Cheers Terry Witt Murfreesboro Tn =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
