This morning, October 26, the bird in question from yesterday at Radnor Lake,
Nashville, was definitely identified as a male MacGillivray's Warbler,
Tennessee's first record. It was seen briefly at 7:15 in the bushy area at the
edge
of the lake in front of the ranger's house at the end of the dam road. It
was not seen again until 9:15 in the same area, but this time it was seen
repeatedly in the open while it chipped. It does have a complete gray hood,
strong
white eye arcs, and black at the lores. Chris Sloan and I were able to get
good video, which Chris will post as pictures.
The bird was seen by myself, Chris Sloan, Michael Bierly, Phillip Casteel,
and Mary Zimmerman, in addition to Tommy and Virginia Curtis of Smithville who
saw it with me yesterday. I hope it stays around awhile for others to see.
I'll keep you posted.
