Late this morning I had the chance to head to Nashville's Shelby Park to look for the Swainson's Warbler seen yesterday. Thanks to Phillip Casteel's finding of the bird and his good directions, I was able to hear, finally see and then photograph the bird today at about 1 PM. It was a lifer for me and a bird I had looked forward to finding someday! The bird was singing it's loud song intermittently in a dense wooded area about 50 yards down the dirt trail in Phillip's directions. It finally popped up into a shrub right in front of me but it blends in so well it was still hard to find! Here are a few photo's-taken with manual focus due to the obstructions. http://www.pbase.com/birdom/swainsons_warbler Mike O'Malley Clarksville, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
