Blue Basin Cove feeder Black Bayou WMA Tiptonville, Tn My feeders have been extra busy lately and for three days now I have had a Male Purple Finch at my feeder, first for the year...also on Jan13 I had a Female Purple finch....these along with the Red breasted Nuthatches that have been at my feeder since before Christmas have made a great addition to all the other birds that are regulars.... Today in Black Bayou there were 26 Least Sandpipers in a pond near the Duck/Goose pits that I pass on my way to go walking....also, Wilson Snipe are in various areas along the Choctow- Mackinaw road....I have been seeing Snipe in the Rice fields for a couple of weeks, depending on the ice....today was warmer and things were thawing...... Eagles continue to congregate at the Goose pit area of Black Bayou at the curve feasting on duck and goose.....and also they are at the Phillippy Unit of Black Bayou seen from Hwy 78.....nest sites are getting busier as the Bald Eagles that stay here year round prepare to nest... Snow Goose population is still high..... Duck season on the lake ended today.... Duck hunter and Eagle watcher population is high......:o) Nancy Moore Bluebasin Cove B&B Reelfoot lake Lake Co, Tn =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
