February 6, 2009 Lake County I worked in Lake County again today and I went around to the south end of the lake to see if the gulls were still there and the massflock that was sitting on the ice yesterday was gone (and so was the ice as it was near 60 degrees today!). There was a large flock of Snow Geese sitting on the water on the south end of the lake. Snow Geese also flew over us again all day today but the numbers seemed to be a little less than yesterday. I saw a bunch of gulls flying to the west during the day today. I don't know if the flock has dissolved or if they just moved after the ice melted. I'm sure they're still roosting somewhere in the area.
