February 6, 2009 This evening at dusk I heard an American Woodcock calling in the field behind Italian Village Restaurant in Greeneville. The restaurant is located along North Rufe Taylor Road, on the eastern side of town. This is the ninth consecutive year the species has been found at this site in late winter and/or spring.
