Tn-birders,
A quick trip to Kingston steam plant (Roane Co.) tonight turned up a few
interesting sightings. We were only there for a little over an hour but managed
to find the following species of interest.
3 N. Bobwhite (the best looks I've ever had). They were on the grass embankment
on the left as you walk in.
12 Semipalmated Plovers
3 Lesser Yellowlegs
3 Solitary Sandpipers
2 Spotted Sandpipers
15 Least Sandpipers (some getting close to breeding plumage)
12 Ring-billed Gulls
2 Herring Gulls
3 Blue Grosbeaks (all males; on the right as you walk in, in the Olive shrubs)
2 Grasshopper Sparrows
