The Chattanooga Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society invites
you to attend our regular monthly meeting on Thursday July 14 at 7:00pm.
Our speaker will be chapter member and Head Groundskeeper of the Honors
Golf Course in Collegedale, David Stone presenting on: Bird Habitat
Enrichment at the Honors Golf Course. Over the last several years David
has enhanced the wildlife carrying capacity of his golf course through
strategic plantings, mowing schedules and nest box placement to make the
golf course one of Chattanooga's premier birding spots. During the
present period of urban sprawl and increasing development it has become
evident that we need to do what we can to execute development in a
bird-friendly manner. David has set the standard for managing golf
courses for wildlife while earning "honors" for having one of southern
golfers' most highly regarded golf club. Come see this presentation,
you may learn some ways to attract birds to your yard.

The Bird-of-the-Month presentation will be presented on the Loggerhead
Shrike by Dave Vogt. Over the last few decades this species has gone
from a fairly common species to almost non-existent in the state. See
how you can do your part so discover the reasons for the decline of this
fascinating songbird.

Light refreshments will be provided after the program by Patricia
Dover-Bedwell

CTOS meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at Ascension Lutheran Church,
720 S. Germantown Rd (Just South of I-24 in East Ridge)
