Well, it seems my sacrifice to the Gods of the internet has worked.
I'm again recieving TN-bird posts, after over a week away. I did
everything I could think of, so I'm not sure what even worked...

Anyway, a strange thing has happened here. All the sparrows must
have stumbled upon a sale of halloween costumes. Because now they
all look (and sound like, and fly like) American Goldfinches (AMGO).
Yesterday, and again today, where there had been a few hundred
sparrows of 5 species, there are now 2-3 song and a slew of AMGOs. I
hope that they'll turn into something unusual next!

On an outing for the Tremont Fall Naturalist weekend this past
Saturday, we kicked up turkeys just about everywhere we went - Cades
Cove, Newfound Gap Road, Little River Road, etc
