I did a little more searching at allaboutbirds.org and a newly acquired Sibley Guide and determined my unknown bird described below is a Chestnut-sided Warbler. I didn't get a clear look at the back of the bird, and my description of the coloration was affected by my red/green colorblindness : ) Clay Collins Nashville, TN In a message dated 9/19/2010 9:03:32 P.M. On the trail along the edge of the large field by the parking area, I saw two Common Yellowthroat, a couple of Eastern Wood-Pewee, and several American Goldfinch in the trees and shrubs. As the trail entered the woods to go to the lake, I got a great look at a Black and White Warbler and a few Magnolia Warbler. Along the ridge trail, I saw several more Magnolia Warbler, another Black and White Warbler, a Nashville Warbler, a Tennessee Warbler, and a Yellow-throated Vireo. I also heard several White-eyed Vireo and Eastern Towhee. At the crossing over the small streambed, I saw a bird I haven't been able to identify. It was in the tree canopy and acted very warbler-like. The breast and belly were pale and whitish with some darker brown or olive streaks. The wings were also pale and had these brownish streaks. The top of the head and back were solid with a reddish/ruddy brown coloration. The rest of the head and checks were pale in color, but I couldn't get a clear view to determine if it had any eye rings or not. I know this isn't the best description, but any thoughts on what it might have been?
