Today my brother and I walked down by our Grandaddy's pond to distract the dogs so my dad could work. While we were there I spotted a medium sized nest in one of the black willows overhanging the pond. Upon further observation I noticed a bird in it. I sent my brother up to the house to get the binocularsand then looked again. In the nest was a Green Heron. Although not a newcomer to the yard to my knowledge we've never had one nest before. So its pretty cool.
