I've seen and heard more collared doves this year than ever, but that is
still hearing one bird here and there and seeing an occasional pair, which is
more
than the one pair I knew of in town. The number of birds was startling, at
least for me.

For several months, I have reported the Eurasian collared doves at my feeder
here in the Charlotte Park section of West Nashville. It started with one,
then it brought a second one. Apparently, they mated and nested "somewhere"
close. I now have at least six most of the time. When they are not feeding at
Dee's Smorgabird ON the deck, they are quite often perched in the hackberry
tree behind my deck. They sure "scarf down" the bird seed! These birds have
been being seen in my neighborhood for several years, but this is the first
year
that they have made MY deck their apparent "primary" feeding zone.

This morning, female RT hummingbirds are giving me a thrill before I have to
leave for a doctor's appointment.
