[TN-Bird] Eurasian Collared Doves in Smyrna

I was heading out for a bike ride at 7am on Sunday morning in Smyrna
(Rutherford Co) and was startled by a "huge" flock of Eurasian Collared Doves,
well huge for the Nashville metro area. In a power substation, I flushed
between 25 and 30 birds. I did a quadruple take to make sure I was seeing what
I was seeing. I've seen and heard more collared doves this year than ever, but
that is still hearing one bird here and there and seeing an occasional pair,
which is more than the one pair I knew of in town. The number of birds was
startling, at least for me.

Guess their numbers are rising noticeably, at least in my neck of the woods. I
plan to scout out that spot one morning this week to see if it is a regular
roost.

Cheers,
Scott Somershoe
