Tn. NWR Duck River Unit Humphreys Cnty Today's vist to the Duck River Unit produced good looks at fourteen waterfowl species. There are many thousands of birds here now. Looking through a large group of feeding geese, I counted 157 Greater White-fronted Geese. Bald Eagles were on the prowl and, on several occasions, stirred up clouds of ducks. On my home I noticed a group of birds perched on a wire close to a feed mill. This was in McEwen, in Humphreys Cnty. I went back for a better look and found them to be Eurasian Collared Doves, the first I've seen in this part of the state. Gary Casey Kingston Springs, Tn.
