Birders, For weeks I have been trying to figure out why there are about 20 American Crows roaming my neighborhood all day and making lots of noise. They turn up in places they haven't been seen before-like traveling up and down the creek bank. This morning I figured out one activity of theirs-not nice! I caught 7 Crows raiding two Robin nests in my yard. The noise form the mother Robins was loud and awful. After finishing a Robin breakfast, they decided to go after two Mockingbird nests in cedar bushes next door and were bombed furiously by about 8 Mockingbirds . I know that is Nature at work but is not nice to watch. The Crows left with Mockingbirds on their tails. Several birders have suggested that maybe the Crows are waiting for the Cicadas to emerge and I guess that's as good a reason as any. Linda V.
