May 22 Radnor Lake Davidson Co., TN Chris Sloan and Jay Desgrosellier heard a Connecticut Warbler this morning at Radnor Lake while waiting on the bench at the long bridge. I heard it again at 8:40, but waited another hour without ever hearing it again. This bird sings so sporadically while migrating that you must stay in one place long enough to detect it. No Mourning Warblers were heard. There was a Kentucky Warbler singing continuously from high above at the Artist and Teacher bench. I followed it as it sang all the way to just before the platform that looks out over the lake. This bird has been conspicuously absent for much of the spring at Radnor. All the Wood Thrushes are only at the east end of the lake this year, and there is only one pair of Prothonotarys around the lake. The Spotted Sandpipers were not seen today, but the Ruby-throated Hummingbird continues on the nest along the dam road.
