Got to the Cove at Concord Park in west Knox County at 12:45 p.m. this afternoon and found my first ever Egyptian Goose.... undoubtedly an escaped domestic variety and not countable but worth a look just 'cause it's so cool. Easily viewed hanging out near the other domestic misfits by the parking lot. Second most interesting bird there was a Golden Crowned Kinglet. Not a lot of species. Thought I might find some Horned Grebes as the Cove is usually a reliable place for them but no luck. On the way home I stopped briefly at the boat ramp across Northshore from the Marina (still in Concord Park) and found 11 Horned Grebes.
