April 21, 2008 Goodwater & Stepp Rd, Cocke Co, TN Frank Murphy and I walked the roads, pasture, vinyard in this area, along Oven Creek and the Nolichucky River. We saw and/or heard a variety of birds including: Wood Ducks (breeding pair) Kingfisher Tree Swallows Northern Rough-Winged Swallows (building a nest) Bluebird Robins Carolina Chickadees Tufted Titmouse Lots of Purple Finches Goldfinches Cardinals Hairy Woodpecker Norther Flicker Red-Bellied Woodpecker Starling Red-Winged Blackbird Common Crow Eastern Meadowlark Kingbird FOS Eastern Phoebe Ovenbird FOS WoodThrush FOS Yellow-throated Vireo FOS Field Sparrow Chipping Sparrow Song Sparrow Ruby-throated Hummingbird White-breasted Nuthatch Common Yellowthroat Baby Coturnix (They were in a brooder in my kitchen.
