Rick, I was on Mt. Mitchell last Saturday, well over 6,000 ft. Saw a Black &White Warbler and heard lots of birds singing...some of them singing the same song. Once the 60 some people in our group gathered for a catered dinner the birds could no longer be seen, heard... probably had gone somewhere else... Haven't been to the Roan recently but I have never found it that bird active. We were in a sheltered picnic area with several tables and buildings. The birds were on the side of the mountain away from the roads and away from the trafficked area. I don't think there was another person in the group interested and possibly thought I was a little off... ??? Do you see Black & White warblers near/on Carver's Gap?
