I've heard bob-whites lately here on the farm; saw one running across the road
yesterday! I love those guys.

I hope Tony's observation is any indication of a trend for the Northern
Bob White to make a come back.  This past Tuesday (May 4) one of my workers
said he flushed 2 quail at The Honors golf course. He is good with wildlife
and certainly knows quail. He did not hear them call and did not see them
until they flushed. We have not seen or heard them since but I am hopeful
they stay and raise. This is the first time any have been seen on the course
since April of 2005. The year 2002 was the last year I have seen them
regularly in numbers. In the 1990s we saw them practically everyday.
